You can learn to hang glide all sorts of places, so why not do it where our species learned to take flight? Kitty Hawk Kites' Dune Hang Gliding Lessons give you the chance to earn your wings on the same dunes that the Wright Brothers used to take the first human flight in 1903. The typical first lesson is three hours long and includes roughly an hour of ground school before you head to the dunes and start flying, completing five flights. Not only do the dunes provide a historic spot — and thus a more interesting story — but they also make for wonderful photo backdrops, so be sure to bring a camera.
