Daniel Plainview wasn't exactly the most likable film character in memory, but he sure had himself a nice bowling alley — and it partly served as the inspiration for The Spare Room. Located on the mezzanine of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, it offers a pair of transplanted vintage bowling lanes, plenty of low-slung, inviting vintage furniture, tons of other games — including backgammon, chess, checkers, and dominos — and incredibly tasty drinks. No word on the milkshakes, though.
