Seamlessly mixing the old and the new, the Copacabana Palace is one of the finest places to stay in all of Rio. This Art Deco gem opened in 1923, and over the years has played host to many a dignitary and celebrity — but never lost its charm or commitment to service. That said, the rooms — each of which is unique — have been updated, with period furniture, in-room Wi-Fi, iPod docks, extra long pillows, and complimentary Brazilian slippers. If you're just visiting for the beach, feel free to take your time, but if you plan on staying during the upcoming World Cup or Olympics, we'd recommend getting a move on — after all, there are only so many rooms to go around.
