Most people end up dressing up on Halloween, but very few take the holiday as an excuse to get completely wild. Those that do, end up at events like the Fetish & Fantasy Ball. Held annually at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, this insane extravaganza plays host to DJ Bad Boy Bill, freaky performance artists Wildchild World, spandex trapeze artists, fire dancers, stilt walkers, and more. If you're interested, plan on clearing your calendar for October 27 — and maybe the 28th, too.
We've all seen James Bond order vodka martinis on the big screen — but as it turns out, that wasn't his original drink. It was the Vesper, a concoction of gin, vodka, and Kina Lillet that was laid out in detail in Fleming's first Bond novel Casino Royale. Fittingly, the Vesper Bar is located inside a casino — The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, to be exact — and of course offers a perfect version of its namesake drink, along with a slew of other dangerously delicious libations. Come for the booze, stay for the people watching — the bar is located between the lobby and the casino floor.
Planning on making a trip to Vegas this Halloween? Get a full dose of fright at the Goretorium. Created by creep master Eli Roth, this new live terror experience promises to be the "Disneyland of horror", with a multi-level maze filled with live actors, animatronics, and Hollywood-level special effects. Located right across from the CityCenter and The Cosmopolitan, it's open year-round, and for those that don't want a full-dose of the creeps, you can visit the lobby bar — Bloody Mary's, complete with a woman in a martini glass that appears to be pouring drinks from her intestines — or Babydolls, a lounge featuring zombie go-go dancers and scheduled feedings. You can even have a zombie-, vampire-, or gore-themed wedding on-site — might want to warn the guests first, though.
Where do racers go when they're in Vegas? Pole Position Raceway, apparently. Founded and owned by a whole pack of drivers, this pit crew paradise offers 18hp carts that reach speeds of up to 45 mph as they wind their way around the 1/4 mile track. Those worried about how they're stacking up in the 15-lap races simply need to look up at the giant screen that keeps tabs on lap times, average lap times, and race position. There's plenty for non-racers to do as well, including video games, billiards, and air hockey tables, and for those who can't make it to Vegas, keep your eye out for locations in Dallas, New York, St. Louis, and OKC.
