It's unlikely that you'll ever be able to visit the center of the Earth, but you can visit the line that splits our world into two Hemispheres. The Middle of the World (Ciudad Mitad del Mundo) is a museum, park, and monument that is host to the aforementioned line between the northern and southern halves of the world. The museum is dedicated to the indigenous culture of Ecuador, while a 30-meter-tall monument honors the French Geodesic Mission, which established the circumference of the Earth. We're not sure it's worth flying all the way there for, but if you happen to be in the neighborhood, it's worth a visit — and so is the real Equator, which modern instruments have shown to be located less than a quarter mile to the north.
