The Hobbit won't hit theaters for another month, but you can get yourself ready by taking the Ride of the Rings. This 1.5-hour horse ride from Dart Stables takes place on a trail overlooking a World Heritage Area and traces shooting locations for The Lord of the Rings trilogy and its prequels. Along your way, you'll pass Lothlórien, Amon Hen, Isengard, the Wizard's Vale and Methedras, and thanks to the walking-paced ride, it's great for beginners. Transportation from Queenstown included.
