Yes, the holidays are nearly over — but trust us, winter isn't going away anytime soon. So you might as well embrace it with a trip to the Stowe Winter Carnival. This long-running festival is held on January 19-17, and consists of several events spread across town, including eleven holes of costumed snow golf, a Super-G competition, snow volleyball, a nationally-sanctioned ice carving competition, and a Warren Miller movie night. Oh, and plenty of chances for you to recount the day's successes or failures at parties hosted at local watering holes the Rusty Nail and the Matterhorn.
