The House on the Rock

It's true that The House on the Rock really is what it says — a house built on top of a rock tower. But it's so much more than that. Created by Alex Jordan and opened in 1959, the house sits atop of 60-foot-tall Deer Shelter Rock, and is joined on the property by a number of other buildings that are home to strange, eclectic collections and displays, a large garden area, including a cascading waterfall and pond, and the "Infinity Room", which sticks out over the trees and is visible from over a mile away. Should you find yourself wanting to stay a while, there's also a hotel and golf course on-site.
