You'd never guess it from its fancy exterior, but deep within the basement of The Fairmont hotel in San Francisco lies one of the best Tiki-style bars around. Open since 1945, the Tonga Room & Hurricane Bar hasn't changed all that much over the years — and that's a good thing. Aside from a classy-looking bar and island-themed tables and chairs, it boasts a lagoon in the middle of the joint that sees periodic rainstorms crop up — complete with thunder and lightning — and also plays host to the band, which plays on a barge atop the water.
