We're pretty sure the men who dug it wanted to avoid sleeping down there at all costs — after all, it probably meant they were trapped — but that won't be a concern during your stay at the Sala Silvermine. This unique destination includes a hostel, a kitchen, a museum, and a festivity hall, but the most notable feature by far is the Mine Suite. Situated 155 meters (roughly 500 feet) underground, this one-of-a-kind accommodation sleeps a maximum of two, and features a small dining table for enjoying the complementary cheese, biscuits, fruit, wine, and chocolate, a couple of chairs for relaxing, a bed with extra blankets — the suite stays around 64 degrees — and plenty of candlelight. The claustrophobic need not apply.
