Named after the patterns revealed when wood is cut, Endgrain is an interesting mashup of a restaurant. Located in Roscoe Village, this low-key spot focuses on using the freshest seasonal ingredients in their new American cuisine, serving up dishes like smoked chicken pot pie with a corn crust and poblanos alongside doughnuts and biscuits and jelly. The brunch menu also takes advantage of their biscuit and doughnut prowess, but nothing does so quite like the "biscnut", a terrifying delicious biscuit/doughnut hybrid that's destined to give the cronut a run for its money.
