It might lack the caché of Italy's more famous cities — Rome, Venice, Milan, Florence — but the country's Puglia offers plenty of sights, sounds, and surprises, and a more relaxed pace of life as well. Il Super Mago del Gelo is a terrific example. This renowned ice cream parlor is still in the hands of the same family that founded it, and still makes its delicious gelato using traditional methods. Even more intriguing is the house Amaretto, which features prominently in everything from the "special coffee" to some of the sundae-like treats.
