Forget that it's housed in the back of a gas station — frankly, we've eaten BBQ from worse places. Oklahoma Joe's Barbecue makes up for its lack of ambiance with fantastic food. On the menu, you'll find staples like pulled pork, smoked turkey, smoked ham, sausage, and brisket sandwiches, whole or half smoked chickens, and, of course, ribs. Sides include staples like BBQ beans, potato salad, slaw, fries, and onion rings, plus the somewhat surprising trifecta of dirty rice, red beans & rice, and smoked chicken gumbo. Oh, and should the gas station location be a deal-breaker for you, remember they have more modern locations in Leawood and Olathe.
