Sure, you can go to your local IHOP or Waffle House and get pancakes — but if you want the most authentic flapjacks you can find, you need to head to Oregon. Opened in 1953, The Original Pancake House is famous for its air-filled, oven-baked Dutch Baby pancakes, their Apple Pancakes, and their demanding ingredient standards. Of course, they offer plenty of other breakfast goodies as well, including omelets, crepes, and, as you'd expect from an Northwestern establishment, some damn good coffee. There are other locations, but only one original.
