And here you thought you and your buddies were the only ones still playing Tecmo Bowl. The Madison Tecmo Super Bowl Tournament is largest, longest-running public Tecmo tournament in the nation. This world cup-style tournament can accomodate up to 176 participants, with the field divided into groups of four, so each player is guaranteed three games of NES NFL action. The top two from each group head into single-elimination play, with the winner being the last man standing. The next tournament is scheduled for March 2013, but you can catch a glimpse of the action in NFL Films' Tecmo Bowl special, which is airing at 4:30 pm 10/26 and 1:30 pm 10/27 on NFL Network.
