Forget the local haunted field/house/tunnel/pumpkin patch — if you want to enjoy a real fright this Halloween, book a night at the Villisca Ax Murder House. The sight of a grizzly murder in which two adults and six children were taken down with an axe, the house is supposedly haunted, as the victims in question continue to hang around, searching for the culprit that was never found. If an overnight visit sounds too scary/creepy to you, they also offer daytime tours.
